Ana Margarida Silva takes part in COST Action SHiFT’s “Mountains for Sustainability” workshop

Ana Margarida Silva, a researcher at CEI – Center for Intercultural Studies and an FCT PhD student, took part in the “Mountains for Sustainability” workshop at the Serra da Estrela Geopark headquarters on October 14 and 15, 2024, as part of a competitive grant funded by COST Action SHiFT – CA21166 “Social Sciences and Humanities for Transformation and Climate Resilience”. Ana Margarida Silva presented a paper on the role of culture in promoting local development actions.

This activity explored the challenges of the sustainability of the natural landscapes of the Serra da Estrela territory. The workshop focused on mountain conservation and the intersection between culture, sustainability and climate resilience. The researchers, students, activists and local residents who took part in the event had the opportunity to share their knowledge, ideas and projects related to the various mountain ecosystems.
