The StreetArtCEI project spin-off from ISCAP-P.PORTO’s Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI) was the big winner of the ‘International Incubator Challenge’, promoted as part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) led by ISLA – Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology, in partnership with institutions in Belgium, the Netherlands, Egypt, Portugal and Tunisia.
This international challenge involved workshops and activities organised by ISLA’s Business Innovation Lab, with the aim of developing entrepreneurial skills and promoting intercultural collaboration between international students and local businesses.
CEI was represented by researchers Ana Margarida Silva (FCT doctoral student at the University of Santiago de Compostela) and Inês Pires (master’s student in Intercultural Studies for Business at ISCAP) and stood out by taking on the role of a start-up in the field of scientific communication, in a real entrepreneurial environment. During the initiative, students from the Avans Hogeschool in the Netherlands worked side by side with the CEI team to solve concrete challenges related to the research projects under development at the Centre.
The final day of the programme, which ran from 24 to 28 November in Vila Nova de Gaia, was dedicated to presenting the projects, challenges and solutions put forward by the competing institutions, with feedback from business angels, experts and other entities involved.
The Centre for Intercultural Studies is delighted with the recognition it has received and the collaboration it has developed with the Avans Hogeschool students throughout the International Incubator Challenge. The creativity, commitment and collaborative spirit of this intercultural group were fundamental to the success of the project, culminating in winning this award.
