Between September 17 and 19, CEI researcher and FCT PhD fellow Ana Margarida Silva took part by invitation in the core group meeting of the Cost Action MARGISTAR – A European forum for the revitalization of marginalized mountain areas (CA21125), in Sofia, Bulgaria. Ana Margarida Silva is a sub-group coordinator in MARGISTAR’s Working Group 2, responsible for studying and evaluating current problems, viable future alternatives and solutions for post-marginalization mountain areas.
This event in Bulgaria allowed the development of a theoretical reflection on interrelationships in mountainous regions, as well as a practical reflection through a field visit to the mountain village of Gabrene, located in the Belasitsa Natural Park.
COST Action MARGISTAR stands out for its use of a multi/inter and transdisciplinary approach, thus supporting the European Union’s efforts towards inclusive, competitive and sustainable economies and societies.
