Ana Margarida Silva coordinates MARGISTAR’s Working Group 2 – “Knowledge synthesis and co-creation with stakeholders”, which is responsible for studying and evaluating current problems, viable future alternatives and solutions for post-marginalization mountain areas. During the meeting, the researcher presented the progress of MARGISTAR Special Issue 1 “Governance pathways for reviving left behind mountainous regions” and the “Self-organized co-creation activities” which analyse problems, visions and pathways for transformation in marginalized mountain areas.

The event also allowed for theoretical reflection on interrelationships in mountainous regions, as well as practical reflection through a field trip to Valle di Cembra.
COST Action MARGISTAR stands out for its use of a multi/inter and transdisciplinary approach, thus supporting the European Union’s efforts towards inclusive, competitive and sustainable economies and societies.
