2022 was a good year for the city of Porto. After receiving the award for Europe’s Leading City Destination 2022 and World’s Leading City Destination 2022 at the 29th edition of the World Travel Awards, Porto has received yet another distinction.
Bringing Happiness to the workplace and making Porto and the North of Portugal the happiest and the most innovative place in the world are two of the main goals established by Lionesa Business Hub.
There have been several prestigious titles given to Porto throughout the years. From “Best Under the radar Romantic Destination” by USA Today readers in 2015, to “Best European Destination” in 2012, 2014 and 2017 by the European Consumers Association.
My name is María Verónica Laya, I was born and raised in Venezuela until I was 13 years of age, and then I moved to Canada where I received my high school education as well as my bachelor’s degree.
Upon completing my studies in Canada, I decided to travel solo around Europe for 5 weeks in April of 2018. I travelled all over and visited over 25 cities in 6 different countries. This is when I met Porto for the first time.

The Porto Accounting and Business School of Porto (ISCAP) is part of a strategic partnership for higher education, within the scope of the ERASMUS + program, along with 6 more European countries.
ISCAP is the most international school of the Polytechnic of Porto, with hundreds of students enrolled annually in its student mobility and internship programs.
