Summary of Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted for publication in the Review of Business and Legal Sciences undergo a double-blind peer review, critical in maintaining the standards of the published articles.

Each received manuscript is assigned to a REBULES Editor in order to assess conformity to the Review’s aim and scope, manuscript formatting and language errors. Manuscripts that may be found to not conform to REBULES submission guidelines may be subject to be returned to authors for adjustments or rejected.

Manuscripts that comply with the guidelines and with the aim and scope of the journal will proceed to a full peer review process. Editors may choose to appoint additional reviewers to assess the manuscript. The BJS operates a double-blind peer review process in which the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and vice versa. Based on the evaluation of the review, the manuscript may be accepted or rejected, or at this stage, once again, returned to the author for further adjustments.

Reviewers must be objective and expeditious when preparing their evaluation reports, and their conclusions must be duly justified. Manuscripts are confidential, and if the reviewer finds that there are conflicts of interest or is simply not available for the evaluation process, the editor is duly notified.

Publication Ethics

Authors must observe high standards with regard to publication ethics, as established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). When submitting a manuscript for publication in BJC, authors are aware that falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the authors' own work without proper citation, and misappropriation of work are unacceptable practices.

Authors submitting their work for publication in the RCEJ therefore agree to the following ethical guidelines:

Authorship of the article: Authorship should be limited to those who contributed significantly to the conception, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original articles and, if authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been properly referenced or cited.

Access and Data Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data related to an article for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data.

Multiple, Redundant, or Simultaneous Publication: An author should generally not publish articles describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication.

Source Acknowledgement: Proper acknowledgement and citation.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All submissions must include disclosure of all relationships that could be perceived as presenting a potential conflict of interest.

Funding: Authors must provide details of the source of funding received during the preparation of the manuscript.

Editorial Policy

RCEJ publishes original articles that have undergone a double-blind review process. Manuscript submission is available through this online platform, and both the submission process and publication are completely free of charge. By submitting a manuscript, the authors assume that the content is not protected by copyright and that it will not be reviewed by any other publication.

Submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editors. After this first phase of the review process, the manuscripts are then sent to external expert reviewers for a final review, at which stage a decision is made to accept or reject a manuscript. The Editors must guarantee the confidentiality of the work submitted, the anonymity of the reviewers and the complete execution of the double-blind peer review process.

Depending on the number of reviews and the respective analysis and response from the authors, submission for publication is expected to be completed within 3-5 months.
