In a highly competitive organizational environment, how employees perceive fairness in the organization's practices has become a crucial requirement. This perception can trigger very expressive reactions in terms of attitudes and behavior, reflecting workers' (in)satisfaction. Thus, the main objective of this study is to understand the role of the
perception of organizational justice in the job satisfaction of technical assistants in the public administration in Portugal, a professional career that has been the target of several structural reforms over the last few years.
To achieve this objective, a quantitative study was carried out using a questionnaire survey that obtained a sample of 173 responses. The results provide significant statistical evidence that the perception of organizational justice has a robust influence on job satisfaction. This highlights the important role that remuneration, procedures and hierarchical relations as a whole play in employee satisfaction. In view of this, it is up to managers to promote and encourage participation, involvement and transparent communication of the organizational policies and practices to be implemented. These actions not only influence the perception of organizational justice, but also contribute to a healthier and more productive environment.
