Artificial intelligence application in e-commerce: cross-sell and up-sell

The application of artificial intelligence in the field of e-commerce is an area increasingly in focus, both in practical application in current businesses and as an object of study in the scientific literature, as far as we can see. In addition to this factor, artificial intelligence has this importance for business and especially for e-commerce, due to its potential to become a great competitive advantage and differentiating element in a market as competitive as it is today.
This study aims to address the application of artificial intelligence in e-commerce and, in greater detail, its application and use in cross-sell and up-sell strategies in an online shop environment. To this end, a scientific research process was developed that consisted of a scientific literature search on the concepts surrounding the theme in question, filtering by keywords referred to below.
The main results of this study indicated that artificial intelligence is a very important resource to create added value for consumers, providing them with a personalized shopping experience in an accurate and relevant way and to achieve business objectives.
